frequently asked questions

Have questions? We’re here to help

Do I have to do any cutting, splicing, or soldering?

No, this kit is designed to be completely plug-n-play, all the connections match perfectly.

Does the kit have regenerative braking?

No, it does not have this feature

How do I know if this will fit my bike?

This kit is designed to work with 26x4 fat tire bikes that have RST Guid Forks using a 135mm fork dropout.

Can I connect this kit to my existing battery?

It is recommended that you use a seperate battery pack to power this kit. CitizenCycle battery packs are designed with a battery management system that is able to handle the draw from the kit's 45amp controller

Can I connect to my existing throttle so I only have 1 throttle?

Although it is possible to connect multiple motors to 1 throttle, this kit is designed to operate using a separate throttle.

Why is a Pedal Assist Sensor not included?

This kit is designed to work with throttle only. Connecting a front motor to pedal assist can be dangerous due to wheel spin and it is recommended that users do not connect a pedal assist system.

How much weight does the kit add to my bike?

About 15lbs including the battery.

Can I use a 48v or 60v battery to power  this 52v motor kit?

It is not recommended. Although using a 48v battery to power the kit will work, the kit will be much less powerful than its intended performance. Using a 60v battery would overvolt the system. Overvolting would increase the power, however, it would also increase the heat and wear on the gears and motor windings. Using a battery larger than 52v is not advised and would void the warranty.
